Taiwania Capital is pleased to announce that their CEE Fund has joined the €12.7 million Series A round in Orqa, the Croatian developer of First Person View (FPV) drones and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The round, led by Expeditions with participation from Taiwania Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Aymo, and Radius Capital accelerates Orqa’s global expansion and its mission to scale a resilient, non-Chinese (NDAA-compliant) UAV supply chain.
This investment advances Taiwania’s strategic mandate to catalyze Taiwan/Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) cooperation across deep tech and industrial supply chains. Taiwania’s CEE Fund will support Orqa in fostering technological synergies between Taiwanese innovation and Orqa’s proven European design, delivering a trusted, geopolitically resilient alternative for defense and enterprise UAS markets.
“Taiwania invests where technology, supply-chain resilience and practical engineering converge come together,” said Richard Wang, Managing Partner of Taiwania’s CEE Fund. “Orqa has proven to be a strong team with a clear maker-and-engineer ethos. They share the CEE Fund’s vision of building a leading, independent UAV technology platform and supply chain that brings together the best of Taiwan and Europe. Our collaboration predates this investment: Orqa has consistently demonstrated genuine interest in Taiwanese technologies and engaged with professionalism and a practical, hands-on approach. With this investment formally strengthening our relationship, we are confident it will continue to deepen and flourish.”
Orqa has established a vertically integrated model and an advanced production footprint that enables the company to produce NDAA-compliant drones at scale and to deliver systems without dependence on Chinese components. The company has the capacity and operational model to scale production through a network of trusted manufacturing partners, positioning it to meet the increasingly stringent supply-chain requirements of defense and enterprise customers worldwide.

“We are delighted to welcome Taiwania Capital as an investor,” said Srdjan Kovacevic, Co-Founder and CEO of Orqa. “For almost a decade Orqa has been setting new standards in FPV. Over the last four years, we have been a key enabler of the Western FPV ecosystem in the defense space, continuously raising the bar for the rest of the industry.
Today, we are focused on enabling the transformation of Western defense forces, making sure they can develop unparalleled unmanned capabilities using the best available aerial robotics technology. This investment from Taiwania will drive the next phase of our development, enabling us to accelerate faster and set the stage for what’s to come.”
Strategic Significance
• Supply-chain sovereignty and resilience. The investment supports a competitive alternative supply chain for UAVs and UAS that is not reliant on Chinese components and therefore is attractive to customers requiring NDAA-compliant or “non-Chinese” solutions.
• Taiwan–Europe technology integration. By pairing Taiwanese strengths in electronics, semiconductors and manufacturing with European systems engineering and certification know-how, Taiwania and Orqa will accelerate development of next-generation UAV capabilities.
• Commercial and defense relevance. The combined technical and manufacturing capabilities position Orqa to serve both enterprise and defense customers that demand high-assurance, high-performance unmanned systems.
About the Investment
The Series A round of €12.7 million led by Expeditions will allow Orqa to expand manufacturing capacity and internationalize its standardized production model based on Orqa-designed systems and components. Taiwania’s participation underscores our conviction in Orqa’s ability to develop and scale geopolitically resilient UAV platforms that will matter to a broad set of global customers.
